Every blessing for 2012 to all our guests. Thanks for helping to make 2011 a good year at Pitt Farm. We had a cracking time over Christmas and New Year with the Mulled Wine, Mince Pies and Christmas Carols providing a super start to the festive season.
Sunday 4th December
Just had Sunday lunch at the Sloop Inn at Bantham, we've been here over two years and this is our first visit - I wish we had gone sooner. They do the most amazing rare roast beef Sunday lunch with all the trimmings, probably the best beef I've tasted since we've been here. If you fancy it whilst you are down here it is best to book, more details at The Sloop Inn

Saturday 10th September
The school holiday rush is over and there is time to stop and take stock. We had a great summer with full occupancy (apart from 1 week in Cavasson). We introduced a new feature with a weekly BBQ for those who wanted to join us. This seemed to go down really well and was a great way for people to meet other guests staying on site. I'm sure we will repeat this next year but will start it earlier in the year (weather dependant). If you are thinking of bringing a large party and would like us to host a BBQ for you just give us a call.

We have had some new chickens added to our animal collection after Sue and Cassie went to Newton Abbot livestock market. We now have 4 White Sussex and 5 tiny chicks which we are not sure what they are but some of them have fluffy feet, they are great but growing quickly. I can't wait for them to start laying.
Friday 17th June
Sue and I went to the Old Bakery Cafe in Kingsbridge yesterday for a coffee. The orange cake was superb (well it was just going to be a coffee But hey!). They also serve some great looking tapas in the evenings.
Sunday 12th June
Sorry, Kimblewick has gone for August bank holiday.
Tuesday 7th June

Monday 30th May
Visited the Food Fayre at Dartington Cider Press yesterday, great fun. We spent most of the afternoon in the demonstration marquee. Met a couple of great chefs, the Reah brothers from The Pavilions at Torquay were very approachable and willing to share hints and tips. Sue and I ate at their Pavilion recently and it was excellent. Also met Geoff from the DeliShack who demonstrated Smokin' Tapas. This may lead to something very interesting and fun for Pitt Farm in the summer. Watch this space for more details. There were so many free samples that we came home and didn't bother with any supper! Is this news section staring to show a food bias??
Thursday 26th May
Sue and I fancied a treat the other night so we visited a newish restaurant in Dartmouth. It was great, superb setting, fantastic views across to Kingswear and really, really scrumptious food. Joanna is a great host and Jonathan a top chef who sources the majority of his ingredients locally. We definitely recommend Annabelles Kitchen, check out their website here. Try and book a window table.
On a personal note for those who know Cassie & Graham, they moved out to their new home in Newton Abbott last week, they will be back regularly to see the animals if not us. Jamie & Jess are coming down to see us over the bank holiday, Jamie has started his new job as a civvie with the Thames Valley Police.
Thursday 5th May
School summer holiday bookings are going really well. Cavasson still has some availability but apart from that all the other cottages are booked for the school holidays. There is some availability for the October half term, Christmas and New Year enquiries are coming in and we have some bookings for Easter next year. Don't delay your booking too long if you are thinking of coming to Pitt Farm at those times.
Monday 25th April
Yesterday was the craziest Easter Egg Hunt yet with 21 kids scouring the land for that precious chocolate. Now where did we hide that last egg? For those who know him Jamie and his wife Jess, came down for the weekend and he has got a new job, yippee!
Friday 22nd April
Happy Easter to everyone, we trust you find real blessing at this time of year. What a change over day! We are totally full and there is a great vibe around the Farm. If you fancy a weekend away this weekend we do have either Snaffle or Mullen still available, do give us a call and come down. Let's hope this weather continues to be so good.
